Yellow Route. Easy. 4 miles, 1hr bike or 2hr hike. A circular route for beginners, with the option to extend further if required.
This route starts at the Victory Trailhead in the eastern edge of Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve. Exit Valley Circle Blvd on the Ventura Freeway (101), head north 2 miles in West Hills and turn left on Victory Blvd. Parking lot is at the top of the road.
Head west for a short distance and take a left onto the Ahmanson Ranch House Trail. This area was once part of the Ahmanson Ranch and the landscape is mostly open grassland with isolated oak trees…..

Red Route. Extreme. 16 mls, 4hr bike/7hr hike. A tough circular route through Cheeseboro Canyon and The Simi Mountains. A demanding ride on the Bell Canyon and Sheep Corral single track. Return on Cheeseboro Ridge and The Modelo Trail.
Start at the parking lot just off Cheeseboro Canyon Road. Head up the canyon on a fire road through oak and sycamore forest and chaparral hillsides.
It is a gentle ride to start with. The navigation is easy – at all junctions stay in the canyon. As the canyon steepens, the trail becomes a narrow single track. This is the Sulphur Springs Trail. There are a couple of rocky sections before reaching Shepherd Flat……
