Hot Tip. Hire a bike in Mui Wo and take the ferry to Chi Ma Wan. Enjoy a great day out on the peninsula, allowing plenty of time to catch the return ferry (NB note the time on arrival)

Yellow Route Moderate Difficulty. 12km, 3hr bike or 6hr hike. A mostly straight forward route along the coastal trail south from Mui Wo to Shap Long.
Start from the Silvermine ferry pier in Mui Wo and head south around the edge of a small inlet and towards a small industrial area. The trail starts by the side of the road on the right and is well marked. The initial….

Orange Route Hard. Chi Ma Wan Peninsular short loop. Add 7km, 2hr bike, 4 hr hike.
Follow the yellow route to Shap Long or take the ferry from Mui Wo to Chi Ma Wan. Follow the Chi Ma Wan Road east and through the Correctional Centre. At the end of the road look out for a small trail to the right and head uphill along a well graded single track. After about 800m head around to the right at the junction and proceed to Lung Mai (Dragon’s Tail) junction. Keep going straight on….

Red Route Very hard. Add 1hr bike or 2 hr hike. Follow the yellow and orange route and turn left at the junction 800m along the single track from the Chi Ma Wan Road. The trail is easy to start with and there are excellent views east back to Hong Kong. Soon the trail becomes very tough with steep climbs and much rock.
