On any drive through this beautiful and historic part of Scotland, the Speyside Distilleries can be seen in almost every glen and in many towns. They cluster together and dominate the skyline.
Open the map to find world-famous brands then drive through the area and identify and visit the distilleries. The picturesque buildings speckle the horizon and smoke stacks can be seen from afar. Each distillery has its own distinct and traditional pagoda shaped roof over the old malt drying kilns. They are mostly set in picture-postcard locations.
It is not just the whisky that makes these distilleries so special as most distilleries are located in the heart of some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. Speyside is less harsh than the mountainous west of Scotland and the whisky reflects this more gentle environment. The scenic backdrop of the River Spey and low lying mountains makes these locations stunning, breathtaking and unforgettable.

A small group of 8 distilleries and a cooperage are branded The Malt Whisky Trail. They are open to the public and are marked on this map in purple with the letters WT, Other distilleries, with public access and not part of The Whisky Trail, are also marked in purple.
